While reflecting critically on the historical limitations of modern concepts in general, we pursue to rediscover among them those that still hold potential to contribute to civilizational transformation.
We endeavor to discover and bring to light concepts or values that possibly can take the status of new Leitbegriffe in light of civilizational transformation.
We widely reassess traditional values or concepts that originated in pre-modern East-Asia including the Korean Peninsula with a particular focus on their latent capacity to promote civilizational transformation.
Building on past scholarship of conceptual history in Korea; however, taking, at the same time, a ‘futuristic turn’ the urgent needs of civilizational transformation dictates, this team works to contribute to clarifying the ideological and theoretical foundations of K-Humanities.
